Cinco personas fueron asesinadas a tiros en un condominio en un suburbio de Toronto y el pistolero fue abatido por la policía, dijeron las autoridades a última hora del domingo.

El jefe James MacSween de la policía regional de York dijo que uno de sus oficiales disparó y mató al sospechoso en el condominio en Vaughan, Ontario.

"Una horrenda escena", dijo MacSween. "Seis fallecidos. Uno de ellos es el sujeto. Los otros cinco son víctimas".

Dijo que una séptima persona disparada por el sospechoso estaba en el hospital y se esperaba que sobreviviera.

MacSheen dijo que no tenía detalles sobre si el tirador era residente del edificio.
